Annual Appeal Donation Form
We had an expansive and vibrant 2023 thanks to the members of North Fork Women.
Our events, programs and partner collaborations keep building. This year our members did more volunteering at CAST, and we continued our ‘In the Know’ series with Peconic Bay Medical Center.
Evolving to meet the wider concerns of our LGBTQ+ community, we continue to co-sponsor events and forums with Queer Long Island (’Queerli’) deepening our playbook. We came out in force as one large group and marched in the inaugural Greenport Pride Parade, sponsored by the LGBT Network. We also held our signature events, the monthly First Friday Friends, the Founders Award, Golf Pride, and Labor Day Auction Benefit, among others, and raised funds to meet our granting needs, for both medical and well-being grants. We thank each and every member for our success in these endeavors.
Today I am asking you to help us again by contributing to our Annual Appeal. Coming off the pandemic, with inflation still high, and a world causing uncertainty, the needs and economic challenges are ever present. With income from our 2023 events, to date, we were able to grant over $15,656 to 11 members of our community, as well as over $5,000 for medical alert devices and answered many HelpHer calls, all done by volunteers in our community. Since inception, grants and lifelines total over $440,000. This is added to the get-togethers, documentaries, author’s readings, and fitness and art classes we did together.
You have all made it possible for us to thrive.
As the year begins to wind down, and I step down as President, I would like to thank the board of North Fork Women, our grants committee, and our advisory board. I’d also like to thank members who have helped at events and that guide us in our continued evolution. I am also thrilled to welcome Barbara Novick, who will begin her term as President on January 1, 2024.
We continue to act on the recommendations you have provided, and will always look at ways we can improve on what we are delivering. Communication and community are the keys to well-being, and we have them both at North Fork Women.
We are proud of our accomplishments and collaborations in 2023. Please consider giving to our Annual Appeal to allow us to continue to thrive in shared community to help others in need.
Thank you and we hope to see you soon,
Eleanor Thomas
President, North Fork Women
