Final choices will be posted via Dropbox or sent via email. Two 8.5 x 11 giclée archival inkjet prints are included.

JOYCE CULVER BIO
Joyce Culver is a photographer and educator living in Greenport, New York. Her early portraits, primarily of lesbian couples and gay men in the 1980’s and 90’s served as ways for her to get in touch with her community and, as she states, ‘Look at what a relationship and love might look like’ in a photograph.

In her forty-year career residing in NYC, she shot hundreds of celebrity portraits for the 92Y and documented her friends, partners, and NYC life. Her portrait of Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Nina Totenberg appeared on the cover of “Dinners with Ruth” published in 2022 by Simon and Shuster.

Culver taught creative courses in photography at the School of Visual Arts, Nassau Community College, and Teachers College, Columbia University. Her work is part of many permanent collections including MOMA, the Amon Carter Museum, the Albuquerque Museum of Art, the International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House, and in numerous private collections.
